Alice, thank you very much for this conversation which directly tackles a subject I've been thinking about a lot as I view the images from Gaza. I'll be sharing the link with a number of people.
Another great article and interview, Alice. Particularly appreciate the recommended reading and links in the text. I recently worked my way through your summer reading list and each one was a gem. Thanks again!
Not sure who said “Information is power”, but perhaps seeing events in real time recorded on the phones of potential victims of war without the agenda of governments could speak to the madness that wars bring peace. After the photography of the Viet Nam war, governments have never allowed photojournalist uncensored access , it was those images that turned public opinion against the war. Thank you Alice for bringing this conversation with Dr Jennifer Good, such great insight and much to reflect on in such troubled times..
Dr. Jennifer Good, your critical analysis is swayed by your assumption that the pandemic is over. It most certainly is not over, and it especially is not over for Palestinians who are experiencing a genocide that mass disables and mames. The pandemic is still present, and it is damaging to suggest that COVID does not still disable and kill people in Gaza, especially those who have been prevented from accessing COVID-19 vaccines by Israel. If you cannot face the reality of the Pandemic, no wonder you experience “compassion fatigue“.

Thank you for reading, Beth.

Thanks Daniel, I really appreciate that. I’m thinking about doing a winter reading list soon, so good to hear it was of use!
Thank you for all this. There is so much that is meaningful here. I keep coming back to it, and each time I find something else to hold on to.
